Chlorophytum is a rare plant from India that is used in traditional systems of medicine including Ayurveda, Unani, and homeopathy. Chlorophytum is traditionally used for arthritis, cancer and diabetes, as well as to increase vitality, improve sexual performance and for many other purposes. Today, chlorophytum can be found in supplements for bodybuilders.

Chlorophytum is now an endangered plant species due to over-harvesting.

How does Chlorophytum work?

Chlorophytum contains chemicals that may have effects in the body. Studies carried out on animals show that chlorophytum may have anti-inflammatory effects. Animal studies also show that chlorophytum may increase sexual activity and may have effects similar to testosterone. However, these are preliminary results. There are no reliable studies with humans.
