Clary sage

Clary sage is a plant whose leaves and flowers are used to make medicine. Clary sage should not be confused with true sage. Clary sage is used for stomach problems and other digestive disorders, as well as for kidney diseases. Some people use clary sage mucilage, an oily substance secreted by the plant, to remove foreign bodies from the eye, to remove splinters and thorns from the skin and to treat tumors. Clary sage oil is used as a flavoring agent in food and beverages. In industrial production, clary sage oil is used as a fragrance in soap and cosmetics.

How does clary sage work?

Clary sage oil may help to reduce seizures. As the oil is thick and sticky, it may help to remove objects from under the eyelid or from the skin.
