Little periwinkle, also known as periwinkle herb, is a plant whose parts growing above the ground are used to make medicine. It is also used to promote wound healing, improve the function of the immune system and purify the blood. A chemical found in little periwinkle called vincamine can be converted in the laboratory into the compound vinpocetine, which is marketed as a nutritional supplement.
