Hordes

What is it and where does it come from?

Hordenine (C10H15NO) is a compound found in many cereals, grass-like plants and in some species of hallucinogenic cacti. Hordenine is chemically related to the amino acid tyramine.

What does it do? And what scientific studies support these effects?

Hordenine has quickly earned a reputation as an effective supplement to help people lose weight. There is little scientific research on the subject so far, but scientists suggest that Hordenine promotes fat loss by stimulating the release of norepinephrine. This makes hordenine a stimulant of the central nervous system.

The central nervous system

The human central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal cord. These are located in the center of the body and are protected by the skull and spinal column. This collection of billions of neurons is undoubtedly the most complex object known. The central nervous system, together with the peripheral nervous system, forms the primary control system that controls all physical activity. The neurons of the central nervous system influence consciousness and mental activity, while the spinal extensions of the central nervous system neurons influence the skeletal muscles and organs of the body. Norepinephrine - a stimulating hormone that provides the body with energy - has a lipolytic effect, which means that it releases fatty acids from adipose tissue. When this happens, the released fatty acids are burned for energy and should result in a reduction in body fat percentage.Once fatty acids have been released and burned and the body composition has changed, it is thought that hordenine changes the body's so-called "setpoint". The setpoint theory (this is a hypothesis with evidence for and against it) states that the body strives for equilibrium and counteracts changes in body mass. This process makes changes in body composition difficult and is one of the reasons why body fat loss is so difficult. By shifting the set point to the new body weight, Hordenine not only helps with weight loss, but also with maintaining the lower body weight. Hordenine also supports weight loss and healthy weight management by slowing down the digestion of food. This makes it easier to extend the interval between meals and thus reduce overall calorie intake, speeding up the onset of satiety and eliminating cravings. There is also anecdotal evidence that hordenine acts as a bronchodilator, making it a promising option for the treatment of asthma. However, further research is needed to find out the exact mechanism of action.

What is a bronchodilator?

A bronchodilator is a medication that is used to improve the flow of air through the bronchial tubes. The treatment of asthma is the most common area of application for these drugs. They are also designed to widen the airways and increase the breathing capacity of patients suffering from lung inflation, pneumonia and bronchitis. Bronchodilators - especially over-the-counter ones - are often misused as stimulants.

Who needs it? And what are the symptoms of a deficiency?

Hordenine is not an essential nutrient and there is therefore no defined daily requirement. There are no symptoms of a deficiency. All healthy people can benefit from supplementing with Hordenine.

How much Hordenine should I take? And are there any side effects?

Strictly adhere to the recommended intake stated on the label. Do not take Hordenine if you are taking other central nervous system stimulants (riphenidate, dextroamphetamine, nitroglycerin, pseudoephedrine and other stimulants), as Hordenine is contraindicated in this case and may cause agitation, rapid heartbeat, sleep problems, headaches, nausea and dizziness. Do not use Hordenine if you are taking blood pressure medication, alpha-receptor blockers, beta-blockers, asthma medication or allergy medication. Hordenine is contraindicated in these cases and may cause unwanted side effects.

What does "contraindicated" mean?

Contraindicated is a medical term that indicates a situation in which a medication or treatment should not be used. For example, prescribing a medication to which a patient is allergic is contraindicated. Consult your doctor before taking any supplement for the purpose of dietary supplementation.
