AMP Citrate

What is AMP Citrate?

AMPcitrate is a compound that is known by many names. Some refer to it as methylpentanamine, while others call it 1,3-dimethylbutylamine. Regardless of what this compound is called, one thing is certain: it bears a striking structural similarity to the now-banned DMAA, which until recently enjoyed great popularity as an ingredient in many fat burners and pre-workout products. For this reason, AMP Citrate is now also known as the "next DMAA".

Where does AMP citrate come from?

AMP cit rate can be chemically synthesized. However, the manufacturers of AMP Citrate claim that it occurs naturally in Pouchong tea, a Chinese tea similar to Oolong tea.

Benefits of AMP Citrate

As mentioned above, AMP Citrate is a very close relative of DMAA or 1,3-dimethylamylamine. The close relationship between these two compounds can best be demonstrated by the fact that AMP Citrate (Methylpetanamine) and DMAA (aka Methylhexanamine) have the same basic structure, but DMAA has an extra carbon atom in its skeleton. When consumed in low doses, AMP Citrate is a powerful central nervous system stimulant that can help increase energy, improve focus and boost metabolism. In other words, if you've been looking for a DMAA alternative, AMP Citrate is the closest thing you'll ever find. DMAA has a structural similarity to amphetamines, which could potentially result in a false positive drug test. However, because AMP citrate has one less carbon atom, it is more different from amphetamines and therefore less likely to result in a false positive drug test. However, this statement is purely speculative as it has not yet been scientifically confirmed.

AMP citrate side effects and disadvantages

Due to its similarity to DMAA, the side effects of AMP Citrate are quite similar to those of DMAA. High doses can cause hypertension, rapid heartbeat and similar symptoms. Users of AMP Citrate have also reported that, similar to DMAA, there is a slump when the effect wears off. As AMP Citrate is a fairly new ingredient, there are few studies that have looked at its efficacy and safety. For this reason, all users are advised to use AMP Citrate with caution, not to exceed the recommended dosage and not to use it in combination with alcohol or products or foods containing stimulants. If you are taking medication or have a medical condition, it is advisable to avoid products containing AMP Citrate. Due to the lack of scientific research on this ingredient, most information on AMP Citrate is based on anecdotal reports rather than hard facts. It is important that science investigates the safety and efficacy of this ingredient in more detail in the near future.

Recommended intake

Due to the lack of scientific research, it is difficult to recommend a dosage for AMP Citrate. However, it is assumed that a suitable dosage should be in the range of 10 to 60 mg, similar to DMAA.

AMP Citrate is most effective for increasing training energy when used approximately 30 minutes before training. For fat loss, it can be taken first thing in the morning or before meals.

AMP Citrate Supplements

AMP Citrate is finding its way into pre-workout products and fat burners. It is speculated that AMP Citrate will soon make its breakthrough and be incorporated into many supplements in both of these categories.

Combinations of AMP Citrate with other supplements

Like its cousin DMAA, AMP Citrate can be combined with caffeine to provide a synergistic energy boost. Additionally, it can be combined with typical pre-workout ingredients such as citrulline and beta-alanine, as well as fat loss ingredients such as L-carnitine and green tea extract.
