Glycine Propionyl L-Carnitin

GPLC ist ein Propionyl Ester des Karnitins (PLC) der zusätzlich eine Glyzinkomponente enthält. PCL entwickelt seine kraftvolle Wirkung im Muskelgewebe, inklusive dem Herzmuskel.

Im Rahmen von Zuständen reduzierter Sauerstoffverfügbarkeit unterstützt GPLC außerdem den normalen Kohlenhydratstoffwechsel und minimiert die Bildung von Milchsäure.
Eine an der University of Memphis unter der Leitung von Richard Bloomer durchgeführte Studie konnte zeigen, dass Glycin-Propionyl-L-Carnitin (GPLC) Supplements (GlycoCarn: 3 Gramm pro Tag in Kombination mit 1.044 Milligramm Glyzin über vier Wochen) bei mit Gewichten trainierenden Männern die Stickstoffoxidproduktion erhöhte. Die Wissenschaftler begrenzten die Blutzufuhr zum Arm mit Hilfe einer Manschette für 6 Minuten und lösten hiernach die Manschette. Dies verursachte eine reflexartige Steigerung der Muskeldurchblutung im Bereich des Arms, die teilweise auf einer Stickstoffoxidausschüttung durch die Blutgefäße beruhte. Nach dem Lösen der Manschette entnommene Blutproben zeigten, dass die Stickstoffoxidspiegel (gemessen anhand der indirekten Marker Nitrit und Nitrat) am höchsten waren, wenn GPLC eingenommen wurde. Wir wissen nicht, ob eine Erhöhung der Stickstoffoxidspiegel das Muskelwachstum bei Bodybuildern fördert.
